He was career and legacy obsessed until he was 35. He was recording albums every four years, touring, conducting business and drawing $55 million a year in personal revenue. Then, after his break up with Jordan Chandler in 1993, he just lost that "eye of the tiger". He then sort of went on a journey of traveling, blowing money and missing recording dates and concert performances. Do you wonder what he could have done with the 2nd half of his career if he hadn't been devastated at the break up of his relationship with Jordan?

Why are you making it sound like him and Chandler were romantically involved? The whole thing with Michael is that who couldn't deal with the backlash of Chandler's accusations. It's hard when you've been so badly betrayed by someone you trusted and thought of as family. Additionally, it hurt him that so many people were quick to believe he was capable of such an heinous act. After all the accusations, he looked for something other than his career to make him happy and sadly never really found that thing (with the exception of his children of course). The question shouldn't be "what would have happened if he was serious about his career," it should be "what would have happened if Michael wasn't so badly betrayed by people who cared deeply about?"

Stupid that whole child molestation thing was made up by whites who were jealous and hated to see a black man as successful as Michael Jackson. Because they had perverse thoughts about kids they used that since there were a lot of kids at neverland. They paid those families to say it. you say 'break up with jordan' like mj was dating him lol, but i do think the case hurt him alot and he never fully recovered. I think his confidence was shattered more then anything, because up until that point, MJ was little michael who could do no wrong and after the case, he started to be known as 'wacko jacko'. i feel that mj was someone who needed to feel loved and i think he was too worried about what people thought of him and just became even more of a recluse and that hurt his career. but luckily for mj, by that point he had already made his mark.
